Give-away : Mario Badescu Facial Spray

Temperatures are warming up country-wide, humidity levels are rising and you’re probably revving up the aircon in your car and at the office. All this can give rise to dehydrated, flaky and sticky skin.

closeup2 Enter the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater. A product I cannot be without. In fact, I have 3 in circulation : one in my bag, one on my desk and one in my make-up drawer! This facial spritzer is refreshing and hydrating and has a myriad uses:

  • spray onto the face to refresh after a workout
  • add a dewy glow while setting make up
  • spritz over newly applied  moisturiser or night cream for extra hydration
  • keep hydrated during long flights
  • spritz on hair
  • use as a pick-me-up during a long, stressful day. A few mists will give your skin a boost, and instantly make you feel more alert
  • if you can’t get out of bed in the morning, keep one on your bedside cabinet and use it to get going!

grouping3 What I like most is that it leaves my skin soft and dewy, and you can actually feel the dryness and tightness disappear. Add to that its subtle fragrance and you have a winner all round. In fact, it has won numerous beauty awards world-wide and is regularly featured in international magazines.

front page I am a huge fan of Mario Badescu Skin Care. This hugely popular range in the US has become the beauty editor’s darling, many a professional’s go-to and the celebrities secret. The brand was started in 1967 by Mario Badescu, a Romanian-born skin care specialist with a bold vision. Being both a chemist and cosmetologist, Mario had a very unique perspective about skin care, appreciating both the chemical nature and complexities of the skin, as well as the desire and innate satisfaction and confidence that healthy, radiant skin can give a person. He believed that everyone was entitled to a beautiful skin at an affordable price. His vision still  lives on today, and simple, no frills packaging has kept their prices as low as possible. The range is botanically based, and a few of the products literally have a cult like following, e.g., the Drying Lotion, which I will feature in a  future blog post.

salon7 The original salon in New York, where it all started, still exists today and it has become the go-to place of many celebrities. Dozens of facials and other beauty treatments are carried out daily. I was lucky enough to have a facial there in December last year, and I couldn’t stop touching and looking at my skin afterwards – never have I seen results like that from a single facial. I now understand why Cher flies from L.A. to NYC for …. a facial at Mario Badescu!

The range has been available in SA for the past 5 years and you can order on-line or through their distributors countrywide.

To celebrate Spring, I am giving away one bottle of Mario Badescu Facial Spray, valued at R185.

To enter the competition, leave a comment in the box below, and tell me why you would like to win this facial spray. Or enter via my Facebook page. Remember to like and share the page and leave a comment as to why you  would like to win it.

Good luck! I will announce the winner on Monday 5 October.

Clivias at Babylonstoren

September is Clivia month in South Africa, and at Babylonstoren in the beautiful Drakenstein Valley, the annual display of these indigenous bulbs is truly breath taking. I absolutely love clivias and this was my first Spring visit to the beautiful garden that this farmyard / vineyard has become famous for. The clivias are at the bottom of the… Read More

Something that’s been on my bucket list for such a long time, became a reality last weekend when Hubby and I went on our first Rovos Rail trip. I have such fond memories of train trips as a child, that when an email popped up in my inbox announcing a two for the price of one special at… Read More
